This blog is intended to document my experiences and journey of my knight in Ragnarok Online on iRO's Valkyrie server. Today is the first day I started this blog and it is October 21, 2010. My knight is level 94 with specialization in spears. Come and view my blog to see how a mediocre, but 100% legit player progresses through the game and through the huge renewal patch.

Update
I've finished leveling my Rune Knight at Magmarings, and left at lvl 105. I then proceeded to go to the Dark Pinguicula map on Splendide Field which gives me better overall exp than before. Cornus gives excellent experience and are easy to kill, and I found an Armor of Naga today. I am currently boosting my dex as high as possible in order to hit beter during WoE and also to reduce the casting time of Clashing Spiral.

I Made a Shit Build, Time to Unshittify It

The purpose of me going on an agi LK build was to simply level up my job skills quickly, because Clashing Spiral takes a while to get to if you are just using cheap Spears. I am now level 87 and leveling at the Stapo map, which is 1 map south of Veins.
Today, I almost thought about quitting RO because I was too pissed that I made a shit build and also because I didn't have a Hunting Spear. So what I did was buy two Old Card Albums for a total of 54 million, and tried to waste the zeny. If I ended up with 2 shit cards, well then that was that for RO, but if I didn't, then that would probably mean I would have enough zeny to buy a Hunting Spear.
So what did I find? A Yoyo Card, and a The Paper Card, the latter of which sells for 99mil+ zeny. It looks like I am back in the game now, and I am planning on going for a high str, high dex LK build. More to come soon.

Agi Lord Knight Progress Update

A Whole New Stat Build

After leveling for a while as a Lord Knight (which I became at level 41), I realized that leveling was going to take quite a while before I would get Level 10 Brandish Spear and Level 10 Spear Mastery. It was simply too inconvenient for me to level efficiently, especially considering my lack of good spear weapons, so I took a step back, analyzed my character that I thought was going to be nothing more than a purely hopeless grind, and I went to the Stat/Skill Resetter NPC in Prontera.
What I did then was make an agi 2-handed sword build, and I must say that it is not only a lot cheaper, but it is actually quite decent and very fun to play with. Currently I am leveling at Hodes which is giving me easy exp along with a very very casual style of playing. I am certainly going to get 99 base agi, along with +agi cards and gear, a fairly low str total of about 80 maximum perhaps, and the rest into dex. I am not putting a single point into int or vit or luk. I hope someone comments on this post and tells me if the low str thing is a good idea.

Leveling Progress Update and Trans

At lvl 98, I took my knight to the map Rachel1 where I could mob large amounts of Desert Wolves which made me level extremely fast, and also where I found a Desert Wolf Card. I should have went to this map sooner like at level 96, but I just didn't know about it until yesterday.
Then I hit level 99 and became a High Novice, and then a High Swordsman. Uploaded is a picture of me leveling at Spores in Payon Field 8, which is great for the first 14 or 15 levels as 1st job class now. As soon as I finish up this last level, I'm heading to the Prontera Culvert until I'm about level 24. More to come soon.

An Accidental Find and More

As I continued to level off of Anubis, I stumbled upon an interesting item on the ground as I flywinged around the map. Some player, possibly a botter, just left an Anubis Card on the ground and didn't even bother to pick it up. There was nobody around when I got there so I immediately just picked it up.
Meanwhile, I purchased a +9 Quadruple Ancient Pike which gives me +80 hit for 9,000,000. It literally does the exact same damage as my +0 Quadruple Bloody Pike which I had been using beforehand against the Anubis, except the Ancient Pike guarantees a hit every time, whereas the Bloody Pike only hit about 60-70% of the time. This saves me a lot of SP in the long run, and thus gives me more time to flywing around the map and find Anubis. Also, it is actually possible for me now to use Brandish Spear when faced against 2 Anubis, which sometimes happens and be able to kill them both in a reasonable amount of time. The Quad Bloody Pike vs 2 Anubis would miss so many times that Brandish Spear was simply a waste of SP and a lot of potions being consumed due to the high amount of damage taken.
I'm currently lvl 98 and I could also potentially hunt Raydrics now that I have this new pike, as I have a hit of 407 and Raydrics require 406 hit for 100% hit. Since Alice Cards are supposedly worth around 700 million and there is always at least 1 Alice in the Glast Heim Chivalry 2 map, I might make several visits there as I go from lvl 98 to 99.

My Opinion of Gravity's "Events"

As everybody knows, Gravity often implements exp boost events in addition to special item events on a regular basis to try and keep things fresh and to keep the players interested in the game. There's just one problem though. Has anyone ever noticed how incredibly lame and stupid these so-called "special items" are? For example, this Halloween, Gravity placed Jakks in several maps and these Jakks drop items such as Pumpkins and Cookie Bags. Ooh, cookie bags. Too bad this item heals only a couple hundred HP and you only get a 3 items out of them once they are opened. Seriously, I could shit a better selection of items. The retarded thing is that the good items such as an Old Card Album, which can be attained by turning in 100 Halloween Certificates are rather difficult to acquire, and are quite a waste of time to get rather compared to leveling. Has anyone truly realized how stupid these items are in most of these holiday events? These are all low level items that barely help a high level character at all.
Meanwhile, my knight is level 97 now with 10% progress achieved to lvl 98. I've discovered that hunting Anubis and Pasanas is actually somewhat profitable, as Undershirts are dropped by Pasanas at a rate of 1%, and can easily be sold now at about 300,000 zeny. I've found plenty, and also a Healing Staff from an Anubis, which I quickly sold for an easy 1 million. Finally, I found an Ancient Rough Runestone from an Anubis hours ago, but I do not know how rare these are or what they are worth.

Leveling Progress
Renewal Is Here and So Are My Thoughts

So I logged into Valkyrie today at 11pm EST, only to find my Basic Info display feeling messed up. Good going Gravity, you're all a bunch of morons. Anyways, I spent about 30 minutes deciding where I was going to level my knight, which was 95 at this point, and to be honest, I don't think there are that many great spots. I did, however, find that Anubis at lvl 4 Sphinx was a good choice. Due to the 150% exp event, each Anubis gives me 7049 exp points at lvl 95, and 6795 at lvl 96. This is very good considering it takes only 2,800,000 exp for me to get from lvl 96 to 97.
I plan on staying at Anubis until I get to lvl 99, which should happen within the next 4 days or so. I don't have any drops thus far that are really worth showing off, but then again, Anubis and Pasana (1239 exp) are great for their exp, and not their drops. I found an Undershirt from a Pasana, whoopdee tittyfucking doo. I will update soon as I learn more about the changes brought by Renewal.
By the way, I can no longer hunt at Raydrics anymore because they are lvl 115. I noticed that having higher dex in order to hit monsters is probably vital now as opposed to pre-Renewal when it was only kinda good.

Jackass of the Year Award

So I was just browsing for wares in the shops in Prontera today, when I noticed that there was this one vendor that names his shop "Goods 99% off". He's been there for at least a couple of days, but the thing is, everything he sells is extremely overpriced. High Orc card for 5 million? Good going dipshit, you win the jackass of the year award. It must be fun returning to the shop that you set up, only to find out that you basically sold nothing. Folks, this vendor is just one of many that have been pissing me off in Pront, charging ridiculous prices for their wares, and you can tell they aren't even trying to be funny.
Lastly, my hunt for my fourth Raydric Card has so far largely been unsuccessful, but then again we can't all have an endless luck streak. I am still quite lucky that I even found one, let alone three, but the good news is that I did manage to find an Iron Cain which also has a drop rate of 0.01%. I'm thinking about putting it up at maybe 500k at least, possibly even 1 million because according to www.ragial.com, Iron Cains seem to be priced high as of right now. For those who don't know about www.ragial.com, just go there and you'll see why it's such a great site. It lists the trends of prices of various items that are being vended in the Ymir and Valkyrie servers.
A Brief Discussion on Leveling and My Equips

Know what else was a mistake? The 26 points I put into luk. However, this may not be a totally bad thing as the Renewal patch, as we all know, will probably make luk more useful for the knight (or perhaps not). Time will tell, and by time, I mean 10-12 hours or so from now. I also used to think that the points into agi were a bit of a waste too, but it looks like it might not be.
So here I am in Chivalry 2 trying to find one more Raydric Card before tomorrow, when I will probably not really be able to hunt Raydrics anymore. When I go level, I always carry 90 white potions, 150 flywings, and 1 bwing in my inventory.
I've also included a picture of my merchant that I have on a different account displaying the wealth that I have made from selling two Raydric Cards. They call me Uncle Richmoneysackbags. It is the first time I have ever possessed more than 12 million zeny in RO, and I am very pleased with the results of the Raydric hunts. I don't know why I didn't think about this before, but back then ( exactly a year ago), I was too focused on leveling on High Orcs to race to the transcendent class instead of just having fun.
Raydric Card Hunting!

Hello everyone, this is my first post. As of the time of this post, I am currently a lvl 94 knight, and I decided to boost my zeny by hunting for Raydric Cards. Over the past 7 days, I have been fortunate enough to find not 1, not 2, but 3 of them. Each card is worth approximately 50 million at least, as I've already sold one for 59 million, and the only other one I see available in a shop in Prontera is 75 million.
The first Raydric Card took me 3 days to find, and I killed about 900 Raydrics total. The second card took 2 days to find and about 1,000 raydrics, and the third time I found the card, it took me only 1 day, with about 400 Raydrics killed total. Not bad.
I used the first card I found for myself and it went into my +4 slotted pauldron, and I vended the second one at 49 million, and the third at 59 million. They both sold extremely quickly within an hour or two.
